This Guy Gave His Girlfriend A New Purse For Christmas, And He Made It Himself

Why spend money on a gift when you can make it yourself? Especially when it”s a gift for someone special, it”s always nice to use your creative skills to invest in making the gift you know your loved ones will adore. Sure, you could just buy something, but it means so much more if you use your hands to craft a unique present.

For Christmas, one guy decided he was going to do something special for his girlfriend. She needed a new purse – but he didn”t just want to buy her one. So he made her one.

First he soaked leather in water until it softened and then fit it to his custom-made mold in order to shape the leather appropriately.

He then created pockets for credit cards and other necessary items.

Once the bag”s pockets were shaped and cut, it was time to use blue water based-dye to color the leather.

He applied a number of layers so that the color he wanted was evenly distributed.

 

To really complete a high fashion look, he sewed a special lining to the inside of the purse before assembling everything.

He then moved on to planning out the strap and buckle for the purse.

He cut strips of leather to his exact design specifications and used more dye.

The buckle that would hold everything together.

Here”s the finished product. The saddle stitch and all of the tiny details he added make this purse look like something you”d find in a cute boutique!
